Scarves Dot Net Attends Charity Pong Event

Last night, the Scarves Dot Net team gathered at a Charity Pong event to help raise money for the ALS Association. SDN’s parent company, One Click Ventures, cohosted the event, and several of our cohorts fought hard in a ping pong battle to benefit ALS. Granted, we came out defeated, but it was all in good fun :). Here are some photos from our evening out:

While the competitors played game after game of ping pong, the SDN gals socialized and perused the amazing raffle prizes. We all had our eyes on the Date Night and Fall Fashionista prizes, which included scarves (from Scarves Dot Net!), a free Bobbi Brown makeup lesson, and dinner for two at a high-end restaurant.

Does this lovely lady look familiar? Our scarf pal, Molly, spoke at the event about how she has personally been affected by ALS. She has been able to use her story as encouragement and a testament to others who are coping with the same struggles.

We are honored to support such a charity. ALS, also known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a fatal neuromuscular disease that does not yet have a cure. Our fundraising efforts are culminating tomorrow as we participate in the Walk to Defeat ALS. If you would like to learn more about this disease — or help support our efforts — please check out our team page HERE.

If you’re in the Indianapolis area, feel free to sign up for the walk and join us tomorrow!

How To Color Block

Spring’s sunny and bright days call for a boldly hued wardrobe. One full-of-color trend that’s hot this spring is color blocking. This style made its debut a couple seasons ago, but it’s definitely sticking around for a while longer.

Not sure how to color block? This easy-peasy style is as simple as strategically wearing contrasting — but still complementary — bold and bright colors together in an outfit.

Still confused? Fret not! A helpful hint provided by Style Prompt is to “make a triangle on the color wheel and choose two of the three colors that the corners touch. These colors harmonize well.”

Color Block Color Wheel

You may feel like you’re playing a real-life game of Twister as the color wheel controls your wardrobe fate, but this dynamic look is oh-so-wearable.Go all-out and wear this trend head-to-toe: Pair a bright spring scarf, mint jeans, and a lovely lace top. And presto — you’re color blocking!
