DIY Polka Dot Table Runner

From halter tops to galaxy scarves, the SDN gals can’t get enough of crafty, creative, and innovative ways to use (and reuse) our favorite accessory. That’s why we’re beyond thrilled to bring you our latest series: The Scarves Dot Net DIY Challenge.

Today we’re featuring a lovely DIY Polka Dot Table Runner from Lexy at The Proper Pinwheel. This DIY is insanely easy to make, and it spruces up any table — no sewing skills required! And let’s face it: Polka dots never go out of style.

Table runners used to seem outdated. With a few simple supplies, you can create a cute and modern table runner from a scarf! Read on for the how-to.

Here’s what you’ll need:

  • Scarf (like this one)
  • Neon pom poms
  • Hot glue gun
  • Fabric scissors

Step 1: Using your scissors, cut the scarf to the desired length and width to fit your table.

Step 2: Place a small dollop of hot glue on the scarf and attach a pom pom. Continue placing and gluing the pom poms in random places on the surface of the scarf.

Step 3: Let the hot glue dry, place a centerpiece in the middle, and admire your unique new table runner!
