halter tops to galaxy scarves

From halter tops to galaxy scarves, the SDN gals can’t get enough of crafty, creative, and innovative ways to use (and reuse) our favorite accessory. That’s why we’re beyond thrilled to bring you our latest series: The Scarves Dot Net DIY Challenge.

Today we’re excited to bring you a little arm candy from Stephanie of Henry Happened. From beach bumming to rooftop partying, these striped bracelets are ready for summer!

striped infinity scarf

Raise your hand if you love stripes! It may be some weird blogger thing, but we’re all obsessed with stripes. And we’re powerless to resist them if they are black and white. With this super pretty striped infinity scarf, I gave new life to some old bracelets. Bonus points for being on trend, because graphic black and white is hot right now!

Tacky Glue

What you’ll need:

  • Old bangles
  • Glue – pretty much any kind will work

    Step 1:

First, cut the infinity scarf at the seam so you have one long tube. Then cut 2 strips across the stripes — about 2 rows of black and white each in width.

    Step 2:

Cut the seam of the small tube of fabric and pull to stretch it out. Don’t worry about the edges fraying because they will roll in.

    Step 3:

With your first long piece of fabric, start wrapping the bangle. Hold the beginning end piece with your hand or a bit of glue, until it’s wrapped and secure.

    Step 4:

When the first piece of fabric runs out, dab a bit of glue on the end to hold in place. Then start wrapping the second piece, starting on the end piece of the first to cover the seam. When the fabric pieces meet, cut any excess fabric and glue the end in place on the inside of the bangle.

So simple and pretty! I love how they looked stacked together.

    Final wearing

Are you a stripes junkie? What pattern would you wrap bangles with?

Special thanks to Stephanie for sharing these scarf-tastic black and white bangles!
