Scarf Style Swoon: Bekuh of Secondhand Sundays
Over the past few months, we’ve asked our favorite fashion bloggers to knot, twist, tie, loop, twirl, drape, braid, and style our very own scarves. Along the way, we’ve chatted with each gorgeous gal, asking her questions about her life, her closet, and her loves. The result? A Scarf Style Guide featuring fabulous scarf looks styled by real life ladies.
Our next style spotlight is Bekuh of Secondhand Sundays (she recently moved her site here). This fun-loving, adventure-seeking, easygoing fashion blogger currently lives in Philadelphia, PA. We love her handmade inspiration, “what to wear to” tips, and boho-chic style. See how Bekuh wore our scarf for a day in the sun (we love those heart sunglasses!) and read her answers to our questions below:
SDN: If you were on a deserted island and could only take one thing from your closet, what would it be?
Bekuh: If I were deserted on an island and could bring only one thing from my closet, it would have to be my favorite blue and white vintage dress. A friend bought it for me as a birthday gift last year and it fits like a glove. I always feel my best when I wear it.
SDN: If you could brunch with any blogger, who would it be and why?
Bekuh: This is such a hard question because I love so many bloggers, and there are some all-stars that would be cool to meet for sure. I will have to go with Bridget from Deer Circus; she and I have become pretty good blog buddies, but we’ve never met face-to-face because we live eons apart. She’s kind of amazing and her optimism is something I need in my life.
SDN: Biggest fashion faux pas?
Bekuh: The biggest fashion faux pas has to be wearing socks with sandals, of course! It’s just not something I would ever do or recommend others do.
SDN: Best fashion advice your mom ever gave you?
Bekuh: The best fashion advice my mom ever gave me was to “wear whatever you like, honey.” That was her response to me almost every day of my life when I would ask what she thought of my outfit. She’s never judged my choices or forced me into something she liked, but instead let me express myself through my outfit choices. I think it’s important to dress for yourself and not the crowd, and she let me do that from about the age two on.
SDN: Which scarf knot from The Knot Library fits your style the best?
Bekuh: That would be the Muffler II. I love easy-to-tie scarf styles, and the Muffler is easy to dress up or down depending on the adventure and the outfit. Yep, that suits me perfectly.
Be sure to check back on the blog regularly for more scarf swoons from our favorite bloggers, and stay tuned for our Scarf Style Guide reveal later this season. Thanks again to Bekuh for being a part of our project!
